The Weave
Art by Bhumika Mukherjee | Story by Oindrila Gupta

She wove by day, she unraveled by night
She felt ready to begin, but not quite ready to end.
Each morning she weaved in a story
From the millions she buried in her heart
Each night she delicately tugged at the threads,
So it bought her time, it came apart.
Much like Penelope from the Trojan times, she weaved,
But not a shroud; it was more a cape,
A cape to shield her through trying times
To shield her through the many climbs
Until at last, one day,
She felt ready to pave the way.
And she wove ceaselessly, night & day
Drawing courage from the sun
And magic from the moon.
She completed the cape,
And one night when all was still,
She put it across her shoulders & with indomitable will,
She stepped through the doorway & into the wild.
Never to look back & embraced her inner child.

Every canvas sponsors 100 meals—because every act of weaving deserves to nourish more than just walls.
