Why design a roti box like a sacred vessel?

Purnam takes its name from wholeness, the feeling of something being complete.
Its design began with Annapurna, the goddess of nourishment, and the garbhagriha, the innermost space of a temple where what is most valued is held at the centre.Purnam brings that thought to the table.

The rotis sit at its heart. Curved geometry and brass detailing on the sheesham lid draw the eye inward, while hand-cut grooves wrap the mango wood body in rhythm, depth and shadow.

Devdutt Pattanaik’s writing adds a quiet parallel: Indian ideas of prosperity have long included not just gold, but grain, food and the ability to feed.

A vessel built around a simple idea: what nourishes us deserves a place of honour.

Purnam celebrates the simple abundance of having enough to share. And that idea travels further. Every Purnam helps fund 10 meals through The Plated Project’s Art Against Hunger programme.
